The importance of collaboration between Higher Education Institutions is non-negotiable. Widyatama University continuously improves the effort on collaborations with foreign institutions. One of which is the development of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that had been signed between Widyatama University and University Teknologi MARA of Malaysia.
The development consists of discussions between the lecturers of Faculty of Design, Communication and Visual (FDCV) of both Universities which takes place at Widyatama University on 5th August 2019. The event was opened by the Rector of Widyatama University (Dr Islahuzzaman, S.E., M.Si., Ak. CA.) and then continued with the discussions of several program which will be potentially implemented.
Present in the discussions are the Deputy Rector of UiTM (Dr. Nur Hisham Bin Ibrahim), the Advisor to International Degree Design Showcase Exchange of UiTM (Dr. Muhamad Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Gani), the Dean of FDCV of Widyatama University (Deden Maulana, Drs., M.DS), the Vice Dean of FDCV of Widyatama University (Budiman, Drs., M.Pd.), and esteemed lecturers from both parties.
Both parties shared the same vision of preserving the cultures of both Indonesia and Malaysia which potentially could become the go-to country in regard to arts. Both parties agreed to conduct several form of programs in order to develop the collaboration between the parties such as, but not limited to: (1) Joint International Seminar; (2) Joint International Innovation Event; (3) Joint sit-in Lectures; and (4) Joint Research.
In parallel with the discussions above, Widyatama University and UiTM also conduct a Mini Symposium in a different venue. Present in the event are the students of UiTM and Widyatama University as well as the lecturers of Widyatama University. The theme of the Mini Symposium is introducing the culture of Indonesia and the role of Widyatama University in preserving it. One of the goals of the event is to emphasise the importance of networking and culture in the global world we live in now.
